It was day of multiple blessings yesterday as several communities in Malaysia celebrated their New Year with prayers and festivities.

Songkran was celebrated by the Thais,where you will find the crowd splashing each other with water.

The Tamils pray at temples for future prosperity in Temples in observation of Sarjavit Vareshe Pirapu.

The Sikh community celebrated the Vasakhi. Prayers with musical accompaniment are offered in temples.

It is to be noted that the Thais and Sikhs are very small in numbers. Nevertheless, their rights are protected under the Constituition.
